Members of the EasyGrass team were on hand as the City of Miami celebrated the grand opening of the Margaret Pace Dog Park at 1745 N. Bayshore Drive in the Omni and Edgewater districts of Greater Downtown Miami.
The half-acre dog park includes two fenced areas, one for dogs over 25 pounds, the other for smaller dogs, allowing them room to run. It also offers park benches, “fire hydrants” and water fountains for the canines and their humans.
An integral part of the 8-acre Margaret Pace urban park fronting Biscayne Bay, the canine-oriented area features EasyGrass’ natural-looking artificial grass systems for pets, as well as the company’s innovative EasyMulch, which were selected to ease maintenance and save costs over time.
“With more than 80,000 people now living in greater downtown Miami, quality parks are more important than ever,” said City of Miami Commissioner and Omni CRA Chairman Marc D. Sarnoff. “This project provides another amenity that increases the quality of life in the Omni area.”
“The neighborhood was in need of a separate area for dogs to exercise and release energy,” stated Andres Althabe, President of the Biscayne Neighborhoods Association. “We are very pleased that the Omni CRA was so responsive and effective in making this happen. It ensures a safe and considerate environment for everyone to enjoy the park.”
“We are very pleased to have the dog park area up and running,” said Omni CRA Executive Director Pieter A. Bockweb. “It is a wonderful addition to our parks system and advances the CRA’s mission to make the Omni area a better place to invest, live and play.”
Funded by the Miami Omni CRA, the dog park was completed at a cost of $400,000.
